          Trying to decide on a good place for a family vacation? How about North Carolina? North Carolina offers a great variety of fun things to do with the family. Lake Lure Fun Center has trampoline games for the little ones, daycare on a first come-first serve basis, and for the adults, you can have a good time playing foosball or ping pong. There are also daily swimming lessons for children and adults and self-propelled boat rentals. Boat tours of the lake are offered everyday at the marina. Another really exiting place to go is to the Pisgah National Forest where, if trees don’t suit you then head over to Sliding Rock. There you’re invited by the ‘regulars’ to “take the plunge” down a 60-foot slippery rock-slope into 6 feet of 55 to 60-degree water. If you don’t care to try the slide, it’s fun to watch the action from the top or bottom of this all-natural ride that’s fueled by 11,000 gallons of rushing water a minute! Want some alone time? Drop off your teenagers for a couple of hours at the Cherokee Fun Park. There you can play miniature golf, drive go carts on a paved track that runs through the four acre park, or steer bumper boats through a maze of streams while soaking each other with water. If water or go carts aren’t your thing, go play some arcade games in the alcove. You may want to take your little ones on the kiddy-rides, designed to be thrilling for youngsters.
