Fall Color in North CarolinaIn the Blue Ridge Parkway, autumn is one of the most beautiful times of the year. Almost as if overnight, the leaves turn into brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows, all put together. Sometimes nature has a way of putting colors together that we never would have thought to compose. During this time in the blue ridge parkway, a special type of wildflower blooms along the road of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Throughout the fall, purple-blazing star, iron-weed, and lilac aster blooms. In unique gardens along the roadside, you will pass all the Mr. and Mrs. Scarecrows, dressed in checkered shirts, and jeans. You may also pass a number of stands selling many foods including, pumpkins, gourds, honey, and cider. There are also roadside stands that sell dried apples and corn, pumpkin bread, and tasty, homemade fruit jams. Touring the Blue Ridge Parkway, is the best way to take in all the fall color that sweeps North Carolina every year.
